EXECUTIVE FUNCTION COACHING
We offer a collaborative, individualized, and goal-oriented approach to Executive Function (EF) Coaching
Understanding Executive Functioning
Managing mental processes
Planning
Sustaining attention
Cognitive flexibility
Impulse control
Executive functioning is like the "CEO" of our brain - it's in charge of making sure things get done from the planning stages of the job to the final deadline. These processes are essential for managing time, paying attention, switching focus, planning and organizing, remembering details, controlling impulsivity, and integrating past experience with present action.
Our Executive Function coaches are experts in guiding students through the processes of daily life
and building strong habits so future tasks can be completed independently.
Nervous system regulation
Manage and balance stress responses
Respond effectively to challenges when needed,
then return to a calm state afterward
Develop self-awareness
When our nervous system is dysregulated, we can feel "stuck" in one or more "bad" states, like feeling irritable, overstimulated, exhausted, unfocused, zoned out, hyperactive. With nervous system regulation techniques we can equip students with strategies to help them return to a calm state where they are focused, alert but relaxed, engaged, and present and clear-minded.
What are the results of EF Coaching?
- Improved planning and decision making
- Better at problem solving and correcting errors
- More cognitive flexibility
- Improved ability to manage their own time
- Boosted attention span
- Renewed motivation
- Enhanced self-awareness and emotional control
